A look back on a DAM great year of events pt.2
Part two of our event overview focuses on events for our range of Corporate clients, with one event in particular proving particuarly popular with our team, and clients alike.
HRH ‘eat and educate event’
There is no denying that the employment landscape is forever undergoing change as employers are faced with a range of new opportunities – and challenges – with each new employee that enters the workplace. The Millennial Generation, and Gen Z in particular, are continuing to change the dynamics of the workplace with their practices, attitudes and behaviour differing extensively from that of previous generations.
As employee benefits specialists, we are always keen to expand our knowledge and keep up to date with the ever-changing rules of the employment how-to guide. And with approximately 80% of our corporate clients based within the hospitality industry, it is consistently our goal to ensure we remain up-to-date with the demands of this industry, and can continue to engage with our clients on an ongoing basis.
Over the past 6 months, DAM have therefore been carrying out first-hand research on the impact that the Millennial Generation and Gen z hold within the hospitality industry; with their practices, attitudes and behaviour differing extensively from that of previous generations.
From online surveys to one-to-one interviews, focus groups and interviews with HR experts, we worked extensively to provide an up-to-date and accurate overview of this group, and what exactly it is that ‘makes them tick’ in the hope of helping to provide further insight for our clients on how to adapt their benefits strategy to continue to attract and retain this group within our ever-more competitive employment landscape. As well as of course allow us to update our own service offering to ensure we continue to 'hit the spot' with this group.
Exploring the main findings of this research, our breakfast event – in collaboration with HR in Hospitality – was designed to provide an insight into the needs and priorities of modern-day employees, as well as encourage discussion and debate on some of the leading trends and topics from our research findings. Held at the spectacular Corbin & King in November 2019, our very own ‘Eat and Educate’ Session featured great food, gifts and company as guests were open and eager to learn more about the ways in which this new generation are impacting the workplace, and what they can do to update their benefits package and remain up-to-date.
And of course, not to forget the Belle(s) of the Ball – our panel members. Following our DAM presentation of our main research findings, we hosted a panel discussion, featuring five fabulous, forward-thinking HR experts from within the Hospitality Industry:

With each member providing insight into what they are doing to alter their benefits packages to appeal to this ever-more demanding and diverse group, we can guarantee the unique layout of the venue was not the only thing that guests were left pondering.
